Artist-portrait1Susan Gosevitz is an award winning artist and an elected member of The Society of Canadian Artists. A painter of nature, Susan creates scenes of natural moments to wake up, to calm, and to bring a sense of peace. “I see art as a collaboration with nature. Together we create the real and sublime in one, providing a return from hectic and stress, from consumption and chaos, to meditative simplicity”.

Susan is a member of The Tobin Island Artists who have painted together for several years in Muskoka. They have published three books; Chucky the Lonely Inukshuk 2009, Larry the Loon 2011 and Under Your Nose 2014. The Tobin Island Artists are the recipients of the Robert Bateman Award 2012 for outstanding contribution to conservation awareness through artistic expression.

Susan Gosevitz graduated from The Toronto School of Art in 2009 and was the recipient of The Edie Yolles Award for excellence in painting. In 2010 she was elected to The Society of Canadian Artists. In 2011 she was awarded “the top ten artists” at The McMichael Gallery in Kleinberg. Susan has studied at The Haliburton School of Arts and is a former student of Canadian Wildlife Artist Robert Bateman.

Susan has contributed to the arts community and uses her artistic talents to help many charities. As a founding member of the Herbie Fund, Susan has co-ordinated the Herbie Artists in support of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She has created artwork for tribute cards for the Baycrest Hospital in Toronto and the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada. Northern Cardinal and Birch was selected fot the 2013 TPH Charitable Campaign which benefited several charities. Her work can be found in the public collection in the Loretta Ann Rogers Critical Care Centre at the Toronto Western Hospital.

Original paintings in oils and acrylics can be found in public and private collections in North America.
